FTP access won't be required to view it.

That would be useful so that I can either check if we have that particular item on the ftp (at 2 am for some reason ), or so that I can check the ftp log without mobile chrome crashing up on me due to the topic length . How long will the new database approximately take, and would it be freely and publicly available or only to registered users?

It's under construction. We hope to have it released soon, but donators can get early access to the alpha right now.

One suggestion might be to add the file type that a certain item is, so we know which is an ISO or MDF or BIN/CUE.

I want to ask, why don't you include a thumbnail of the disc/artwork in the release? That way one could see the differences and similarities with a current disc. E.g. I have an Win2000 disc, and I search it and found it on the database, but I note that the CD thumb in the database is different to my CD, so that would mean I have a different release, perfect fot the FTP

A gallery function will be added later. It's a lot of extra work and at the moment we focus on getting the basics of the database working correctly before we start adding new features.

That would be super awesome. I'm a new user, just registered last night in-fact. I'm excited to contribute but not sure if I even have anything you guys could use. A resource like that could help make it super clear to me and any other newboys what we can add.
