Errors logging in to the FTP server

Post by gtgamer468 »

Three times I tried to log in with a 530 error. I'm running Filezilla version 3.31 on Windows 8.1. At the second and third attempt, I tried changing my login's password twice by clicking the "Generate new password" button with little success. I'm very new to this, so I have no idea to set it up.

Go to the FTP servers page, and down the bottom you will see a button that says "Update IP Lock".
Click on it and wait two minutes.

I tried it but it's still saying that my login credentials are incorrect.

Invalid Home Directory?
I remember I had something like this when I initally got FTP Access for the first time. I think.

A 530 Error means an invalid home direcrory. Generate a new password, update your ip lock and permissons, then try again after 2 mins.

I'd like to once again point out that if you experience connection/login issues, always try generating a new password and updating the IP lock and permissions. It apparently solves a lot of such issues and saves you the time of creating a topic and waiting for suggestions.
