We've updated the site and our rules with the new FTP Fair Usage Policy. Everyone please take some time to review it.
This policy was added due to excessive FTP usage by a limited amount of members. These members keep maxing our the daily quota for weeks and months using up a majority of the available bandwidth and this is not acceptable. As an FTP member FTP content is free to download but excessive use is not allowed and puts a strain on our infrastructure. These members will be monitored and issued a warning to stop the excessive downloads, and if the downloads continue actions will be taken to limit the usage, either by decreasing the daily quota or revoke FTP access altogether if necessary.
Bandwidth is expensive and limited and paid entirely by Andy and me as well as donators to the community and will not be exploited by other members for personal or public gain. In a perfect world we would have full access without any limitations but this is not possible due to high cost of hardware, bandwidth and infrastructure.
Please respect the policy and respect all members that has donated and contributed to this community.
Thank you.
FTP Fair Usage Policy
Re: FTP Fair Usage Policy
Just a reminder to all users that the fair usage policy is still in place and is enforced on occasion where users ignore warnings. Please make yourself familiar with it to ensure you do not break the policy. The last thing we want to do is limit any user's access to the archive, but we will do it if deemed necessary to protect the infrastructure from abuse.
Thanks
