Hello, what NT 5.0 builds I should try at first? Which are the most interesting and different from both NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 RTM?

I'd say that anything from the 1729-1848 range would be a good choice to start with, if you don't mind builds which can be tricky to install at times. It's when the UI for NT 5/2000 started coming together, and so should have quite a few interesting bits.

1729 and 1796-1848 are the easier builds to install from this range, so I'd recommend that you start with those.

1515 is also interesting if you want to take a look at the IE4 Active Desktop, circa early 1997, and is also easier to install unlike later builds.

1575 also has an early IE-explorer interface, but it is buggy. Builds around 1575-1848 are those that tend to be hard to install and a lot of them only support floppy installation.

If you want something close to the RTM, build 1994-2031 will do, however, note that build 2031 can cause the CPU to go nuts and shutdown via a triple fault.

I would try 1515 if you want something different from the others but bear in mind that anything from 1515-1877 is hard to install. Most of them require you to use a DOS/9x boot disk to partition/format the drive and run winnt /b. If you want something close to the final version, try 2000 or 2031.
