The cover of a Frech magazine caught my eyes recently.
Indeed, it says there was 3 floppies with evaluation versions of both Windows 3 and Excel 3 included with the magazine.
I looked in the FTP but found no trace of them (in both "(Abandonware) Operating Systems\PC\Microsoft Windows 3.0" and "(Misc) Evaluations". Do they really exist?

Yes they did.. they were the "test drive" versions.

Google around for test drive and you'll find it for sure. It was prolific at the time, I did include solitaire!

Thanks. I searched and found an English demo made for PC World.
No traces of the French version though. I will try to find the disks from this magazine...

You could get the English Windows 3.0 test drive from WinWorld, but their site is down (with no chance of returning, see winworldpc.net for info). I have the disk images, if you want them, PM me.

I had no idea this existed. I'll have to mess with this later. Pretty cool, despite probably being a bit useless.
