[EXTREMELY RARE PROTOTYPE] HP Touchpad Go webOS Tablet

Post by whistler2250 »

I recently found one of these nearly-impossible to find rare prototypes in the electronic waste basket at my mother's place of work and it seems to work, but I can't seem to use the activation bypass. Picture:

Also, it has faint screen corners for some reason. And the model is Config.E.

Unreleased HP hardware? A rare find indeed. I wonder how many of these units actually exist. Accordingly to an old article on The Verge, one of these tablets was listed for $700 on eBay. I don't know if it sold or not but I would definitely hold on to that if I were you.

Last time I checked on eBay, none of those prototypes were being sold. I think that I may have found one of the last ones still out there.

In the same electronic wastebasket, I also found a regular HP Touchpad 10-inch, which now runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat.

Why do people always put Android on those Touchpads, it makes impossible for me to get one with webOS.....

Becuase the webOS activation servers are down. Also, you can't install any apps on it. WebOS is pretty much dead in 2017.

WebOS still exists but not on laptops or phones, but smart TV:s (I got it in mine). Unfortunately I don't have any touchpad with this, only my Palm Pre which I have not used for years...

I know a friend who has an LG OLED TV (it's not 4K though) and it runs webOS. The remote acts somewhat like a Wiimote (portmanteau of Wii and Remote) in that moving the remote moves the pointer onscreen.

Doesn't webOS have apps that use HTML/CSS/JS/etc.? Or was that Firefox OS?

Try selling this if you need some money now or down the line. Otherwise, hang onto it but don't do something like try to put Android on it.

I said I got two tablets: a regular HP Touchpad that I put android on (yes, I even posted some comments on Beta Archive using it), and the rare prototype that still has webOS.
