Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

So on some of the cd-r's there were some directories that contained various builds of vb4 (the first two were named, the last one was not, so going by the version # in vb32.exe), two are just directories, and 1 is a collection of zips.

There doesnt appear to be a way to setup vb just a setup for ODBC (in the windll folders), I've tried a few ways to run the 32-bit versions, but get missing ordinals in dlls, or just unknown errors.

If any of you are able to get this running that would be awesome, but for now this is just dumps left to history.

Files:
Build 1810 - https://mega.nz/#!cCBCVYxC!v3Hn1vnrMajS ... 4PD_elURxM (directories with files)
Build 1816 - https://mega.nz/#!gHZgGQTS!1eDkARh8xR-V ... 8vs-t2o6LI (zips, which presumably are the directories used in the one above, this one is the most complete)
Build 2220? - https://mega.nz/#!gaYgWDyR!1KDdGQB7Rpdl ... 6GLhHhza1Y (some files and a directory of runtime files)

Would be great if someone could check these and see what's missing and see what we can archive.

The 1810 isn't even versioned like that, not sure where you got that from. Some WIN16 files are 1815 and some WIN32 files are 1809. Some of the former are also dated 15th February 1995, one day before the 1816 build. This is missing most of the main files, so even mixing it with other builds is unlikely to yield any results (not to mention it's pretty pointless if the main EXE itself is missing anyway).

The other two *might* work if mixed with other close builds we have, namely 1921 (tr5) and 2290 (which is in German). I'll play with these tomorrow and post the results. Here's the splashscreen from 1816:

2220 has a splashscreen much like the one in the RTM build.

Was the name of the directory the files were in vb4_1810 same with vb4_1816 on the cd-r, I wish I had more, tonight I'll run the cd-r through iso buster just incase there are other files on the disk.

Love that splash screen :)

Alright, 1816 files can be placed over 1921 and it'll run fine, but it won't use the splashscreen I posted. This is located in VBIDE32.DLL, which I've replaced but it still won't use it for whatever reason.

I wonder if the guy who designed this splash screen was playing Doom right before he got to work...
