Re: [Offer] cisco Experimental IOS Version 12.0 for the 7200

I only just retired a Cisco c870 router at work, running 12.4 from 2011. I had no idea that the 12.x series had started back in 2000. Not sure if we are currently archiving old firmware, but it would be interesting to keep some of these experimental bits that are probably otherwise erased from the net.
16 years of BA experience; I refurbish old electronics, and archive diskettes with a KryoFlux. My posting history is 16 years of educated speculation and autism.

I was wondering about archiving those here myself. Not just experimental IOS versions, but also IOS versions for old/EOL equipment which can be difficult to locate in their own right, even when the hardware is still quite useful. I don't know that it's really correct to call it firmware in the case of IOS though. The routers are really just special purpose computers with CPUs that run software from Flash, not truly firmware embedded on a microcontroller.
