Keyboard not working in Windows 1.04

I'm trying to install Windows 1.04 in VirtualBox, and it install just fine, but when I boot into Windows, the keyboard just completely stops responding. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
PS: forgot to mention I'm running under IBM PC-DOS 3.1

Already tried that, didn't work. Kept giving me an error along the lines of "No fixed hard disk"

what machine are you emulating in 86box?

I've tried the IBM XT and IBM PC, but DOS throws up that error I mentioned when I try to fdisk

use XTIDE for those, and google it.
