Whistler Luna Theme with Classic Windows Logo?
I seem to remember a picture of some Microsoft reps demoing a build of Whistler that had the Luna theme implemented, but the Start button had the classic 9x Windows flag on it instead of the XP-7 flag. Can someone help me find this image?

Well, that's what the "Search" function is for.
Anyways, here's the topic: https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewt ... na#p411183
It came up as the second result of the query "Whistler Luna".

And it even gave me a build number! Perfect! Thanks!

BTW: Me and TheChrississin actually had a discussion about it back in 2015, where I was able to run build 2419's explorer (the last build that we have that used both Watercolor and the classic flag) on build 2428 (the earlist build that had Luna, but it had the XP-styled flag), thus giving Luna the classic Windows flag:ComboOfWombo wrote:And it even gave me a build number! So I could mount a 2419 VHD and a 2428 VHD and basically swap the explorer.exe filesWindows OS wrote:BTW: Me and TheChrississin actually had a discussion about it back in 2015, where I was able to run build 2419's explorer (the last build that we have that used both Watercolor and the classic flag) on build 2428 (the earlist build that had Luna, but it had the XP-styled flag), thus giving Luna the classic Windows flag:ComboOfWombo wrote:And it even gave me a build number! I did that and it worked, but the BIOS date in my VM keeps syncing back up to the host machine.Windows OS wrote:Pretty much.ComboOfWombo wrote: So I could mount a 2419 VHD and a 2428 VHD and basically swap the explorer.exe files

There is a setting on most VMware products (If you are using one, that is) that would allow you to disable the time sync and you can then set your custom time through the machine's VMware BIOS setup. Everyone here should at least be familiar with that. On VirtualBox, however, custom times need to be set through the command interpreter as a time offset in milliseconds.ComboOfWombo wrote: I did that and it worked, but the BIOS date in my VM keeps syncing back up to the host machine.

I actually tried doing that but it would just keep opening the 2428 Explorer.exe instead although I "replaced" it while it was closed. Which didn't work.Windows OS wrote:Pretty much.ComboOfWombo wrote: So I could mount a 2419 VHD and a 2428 VHD and basically swap the explorer.exe files
Any way I could fix that?

Try rebooting. If that didn't work, make sure that the 2419 explorer replaces the 2428 one. How I did it was renaming the 2428 explorer to "explorer2428.exe", then placing in the 2419 one in it's place.sugarcubes wrote: I actually tried doing that but it would just keep opening the 2428 Explorer.exe instead although I "replaced" it while it was closed. I actually got it to work by placing the 2419 explorer.exe in a separate folder on the C drive and running that instead.Windows OS wrote:Try rebooting. Interestingly, I ran the 2416 explorer.exe on 2428 and it had the same effect, except there are watercolor shut down and logout icons on the start menu and the top of the Windows Classic start menu is grey instead of a gradient as it was in 2428.
So now I'm wondering what would happen if I ran the 2410 explorer.exe on 2428.

Here's the start menu from the 2416 explorer.exe running on 2428
And... here's the classic start menu. It's a bit different than what appears when you run 2428 stock or with the 2419 explorer.exe
