[Offer] Ubuntu 4.10 Beta

Hello all,
I actually came across a beta build of Ubuntu 4.10. If anyone wants to take a look (I haven't tried it yet), I have put it on the upload server. It should be on the FTP very soon. Looking forward to FTP access (mrpijey, if you're reading this, I used it as my contribution. Thanks for your service.)

Since we don't carry betas of Linux distributions I won't be putting this on the FTP, sorry. But you can of course share it by putting it on a public download service and link it here.

This archive doesn't contain pre-releases versions though, hence the reason why this version would be of interest to some people.

If you are really interested in old linux, look at http://oldlinux.org/. Or even https://sourceforge.net/projects/linux011/ if you are running Windows. It's a set of cross compilers & Qemu to cross compile Linux 0.10, 0.11, 0.12, 0.95, 0.96, 0.97, 0.98 and boot them via Qemu.

Ubuntu really isn't interesting at all, as it's just a repackaged Debian, and a poorly done re-packaging that it cannot be customized properly so it encourages endless other repackages with only slight alterations.

Am I sure that Ubuntu is an uninteresting repack of Debian? yes, 100%.

I would still recommend you to upload this though, as it would be fun to see the beginnings of one of the most widely used Linux distributions, even if it is uninteresting.

Yeah, you can upload it to any download site which is not infested with advertisments.

Remember that, despite this, every single release of Ubuntu since its begginings is available for download on http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/. It might be interesting to computer the few differences the beta might have with the stable release, but appart from that, it's not that relevant.

Sorry, but I have been having troubles with the upload. I will be trying while I am at school tomorrow, when nobody is home. This is mostly because of Netflix.
