Update DiskManager and Memory Manager of XP with Win2k3 file
Update DiskManager and Memory Manager of XP with Win2k3 file
any one know which 2k3 files are diskmanager and memory manager(few may be inside core kernel as per my knowledge)?
Re: Update DiskManager and Memory Manager of XP with Win2k3
The memory management is part of the kernel. Disk management is part of the kernel, but is extended via the HAL and driver services, specifically volsnap.sys, atapi.sys. NTLDR plays a part in the initial memory management during boot time, prior to the kernel taking control. This was a topic of much discussion when it was discovered that NTLDR from Windows 2003 seemed to work better on high-ram systems than XP's version of NTLDR. Since we have things like FreeLDR for ReactOS, we can determine just how far into the memory subsystem that the LDR is concerned.

Thanks
NTLDR improved a lot performance in xp .
I have to dig more with disassembler.
