Does anyone have Windows 3.1 AST OEM in English (not Danish)?

Edit: However, this one has the same logo as regular non-OEM Windows 3.1. Which means there's still two different AST OEM versions to find.

Edit #2: The Danish AST OEM version that we have also has the regular Windows 3.1 logo. So this makes me wonder if the logos shown in the screenshots above actually even exist. And the fact, that according to Wikipedia, the company was called AST Research until 1999 (and PCollector's copy's floppies indeed say AST Research), and only then did an "AST Computers" first appear, IMHO puts even more doubt on the legitimacy of the two screenshots in the original post.

Maybe the Windows installation that was shipped in the PCs came with a custom bootscreen, but the one in the floppies didn't. I've got an AST Bravo NB notebook from 1993, the logo on it is exactly the one from the first screen. Unfortunately, the previous owner formatted the machine's HDD and installed Windows 95 OSR2 on it, so there's no way to be sure about the bootscreen. However, it can be a clue that the screens are possibly legit.

- carlaum1: Does your notebook actually says "AST Computer"? The AST logo is indeed legitimate but the "Computer" part under it may not be. From what I gather, it was called "AST Research" until 1999, and "AST Computers" from the on.

The notebook only says "AST" on it. The only place it says "AST Research" is in a metal plate close to the battery pack, so I guess that "AST Research" maybe was just the company's true name, while "AST Computer" was the one used for the final user.

Notice the difference between "AST Computer" (singular) on the bootscreens and the company name since 1999 "AST Computers" (plural).

Hey guys, I know this is an old thread, but I found this while looking for information about an AST Advantage! Multimedia PC. I do in fact have a AST Machine that has the pictured boot logo along with all of the OEM software it came with in 1994. I even have the restore floppies. If you need any info, feel free to PM me.

I also owned an AST Advantage Pentium 90 machine which had the custom Windows boot screen (at least on the original install). I'm pretty sure I still have the restore CD somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up and get it uploaded.

Found my disc (circa 1994), here's a copy of the VGALOGO.RLE file (converted to jpg for image upload). I'll see about imaging the disc and uploading to IA. This is so early it's not even a real "recovery" cd. It just has an entire copy of what was on the hard drive in a directory called "ORIGINAL" on the CD. Recovery was done by formatting the C drive and then copying that entire directory to the root of the C drive and then running sys c: Those were the days.
