If I had it I'd rather rip the CD instead of running HD-COPY with old 5.25" disk drive ripping disks in fear and trembling.

Thank you very much! We were missing this one.
Also, as soon as I can get it, I'm going to compare it the other one I had.

Wow we finally got this.
I've been looking for this for more than 10 years..
I heard this first in about 1993 from some pirated CAI software with some screenshots of CWIN30..

Re: Finally! Windows 3.00 Chinese Edition!
Are you sure that the apparent WINVER flaw is actually a bug, and not just a separate version and build number for the Chinese translation (in other words, the kernel and language possibly having separate version numbers)?

Re: Finally! Windows 3.00 Chinese Edition!
Right, because it totally makes sense that Winver would have a version number of 51.3261 for instance... Besides, if you would click the GIF you would notice that the version number keeps changing, so it is definetly a bug.

I didn't notice that, though, since I posted before the person actually edited the other post to include the animated .GIF. Sorry about any confusion, though, you're probably right.DeFacto wrote:Right, because it totally makes sense that Winver would have a version number of 51.3261 for instance... Re: Finally! Windows 3.00 Chinese Edition!
And most notable element which let Chinese Version wins other Windows 3.0 version is that, IT HAS OUTLINE DBCS FONT!
The Windows 3.0 Korean Version has only 16px, 20px, and 24px bitmap fonts.
The CFSUNG.FON is actually a TrueType Font which can be opened by High-Logic FontCreator or FontForge, though the font metrics are messed.

Re: Finally! Windows 3.00 Chinese Edition!
I did the same research on the PC-98 Windows 3.0 Japanese EPSON edition and found that it does not contain any outline Japanese fonts.roytam1 wrote:And most notable element which let Chinese Version wins other Windows 3.0 version is that, IT HAS OUTLINE DBCS FONT!

PC-98 editions (1.0x - 3.0) are more different: they load system 16*16 bitmap fonts.yksoft1 wrote:I did the same research on the PC-98 Windows 3.0 Japanese EPSON edition and found that it does not contain any outline Japanese fonts.roytam1 wrote:And most notable element which let Chinese Version wins other Windows 3.0 version is that, IT HAS OUTLINE DBCS FONT!

and the DBCS font driver is different from CHT/KOR CFFONT.FOD.
Re: Finally! Windows 3.00 Chinese Edition!
This version I have, can be shared, is restricted to CPU, if not up to the requirements, will be after the shutdown will not start
Mod Edit - Don't double post.
This version limits of CPU should be less than 2.10GHz

Re: Finally! Windows 3.00 Chinese Edition!
where on earth did you find this??? I've been all over hong kong (so it feels like) and the oldest thing I've seen is NT 4.0 workstation in traditional Chinese. It must have sat in a window for 10+ years as the box is super faded, which is why I didn't even bother asking how much.... Although from the store I suspect they would want the ~ 2300 HKD original price......
