WinFS memory leak fix?

Post by Cyber Toon »

has anyone made a fix for the WinFS memory leak yet?
and could someone do it? is it possible?
this and a .net enabled explorer leak fix (as well as explorer.exe.config),would make 4074 be able to be used as an everyday os without sacrificing stuff! :D
also, I can't find longhorn 2008, it isn't there D:
does 2008 fix the WinFS leak, or does it disable it, or neither? are there any good features of WinFS? list/explain some?
also, does the avalon-based display properties (not the wmm since it just looks darker and glitchy) from 4093 work in 4074?

Best fix to the memory leaks is to disable WinFS. WinFS does not do anything worthwhile either, so it's just a waste of time anyway.
Windows Defender for great justice! Bugs are an international trading company. I need to defeat the anti-debugging and obfuscation methods. It wasn't for Intel's absurd ability to load in ie6. Why even waste time with people in an envelope?

Longhorn 2008 wasn't been an pack to install over existing installation of LH4074?
Here's the link: http://longhorn08.site90.net/

+ as the Weatley says - you'r best choise is to disable WinFS. It was segregating files through folders in my documents. For example when you had video file, mp3 file and word document, it moves that files into correct folder - my videos, my music and my docs. But since it isnt functional, you cant use it.
Well, hello friends!

This patch, unfortunately, does not eliminate the problem of memory leaks when running WinFS. Try using this one registry file - on the assembly 4074 is slightly reduces the memory leak.

How did you manage to get WinFS operational on longhorn build 4074? I have never get it working on this build.

EDIT: I managed to get it on. Just it is needed to run all necessary services on the first boot. I get it on TWIWMTB.

That's right, you need to run all the services associated with WinFS. You will have the store "DefaultStore" and there you just need to copy the files

What are the necessary services?
Sam service, WinFS, some indexing services. I have the list written somewhere.
When I was trying to get it on I just get through stopped and disabled services and tried trial and error to determinate which are the necessary ones.

Why install something already available in the system? The beta was for XP only iirc.

Just run WinFS service and every depending service and you will get WinFS.

Why don't you do your own research first before asking questions like that?
