It's not been leaked so requesting it here probably won't be much use - as far as I know there isn't anyone here who works for Microsoft

Too bad Longhorn 5060 and Longhorn 4067 were not leaked. Are they gonna be leaked ever?? I mean Longhorn 4033 was leaked a few months ago.

Builds are released suddenly, OSBA is no loger online, so there goes that chance.

You can never predict when you can get a new leak...
Some might leak immediately, and some years later or even never...
That's why collecting betas is such an interesting thing... As you can often find surprises

Where do the betas that are leaked years later actually come from, just out of interest? As surely the only people that have access to those builds are those who work for Microsoft (as anything that goes to beta testers, TAP, MSDN etc is usually leaked straight away), and they're not going to release them (and it must be quite hard to access old betas even if you do work there, as there'd be no reason for them to be stored somewhere where employees can get at them, if they even keep all of the old buggy builds).

Well, the CDs could of been in storage, or the member that had the CD just became a poster.

I received a bunch of old MS eval cds from my dads old work. They threw away whole binders full of betas because they didn't function right on their machines.

Some people have access to TAP, they send them to some special people in the beta scene. Then, those people keep the build privateand sometimes, those special people just leakks a build when they want to.

You'd be surprised as to what old EX-MS employee's keep stored away
without realizing it's value in the world of beta collecting...
A few months ago one such person actually sold the 1st build of NT ever
compiled - on ebay, the starting price was .99cents..
The archive itself was just a zipped package that was only distributed to
a few testers within MS themselves...
He showed the documentation relating to it to prove it's authenticity...
It ended up selling for something like 120 odd US Dollars.. Too much for
me to fork out at the time...
My bidding stopped at $80 USD...

I actually ended up meeting such a person in Canada, through Ebay
a couple of years ago which is how my Whistler/2003 collection is as
good as it is...

Edit:- Typo

You'd think they wouldn't let that sort of stuff out as they could surely get into trouble with MS - I know they're old betas, but companies like MS do seem to get very annoyed even about stuff like Windows 1.0 being distributed. Do you know from your contact with MS employees whether every single build is actually kept somewhere, or if they just throw most of them out after a while?
