I want to connect my xbox 360 to my computer monitor through the vga hd cable. However I was wondering how do I output sound from my xbox 360 as on the cable there are 2 component cables for tv.

The VGA cables that are offical like mine have sound output (white and red) built into them and come with an adapter to turn it into a 3.5mm jack to use your computers line in if you need to.

thanks. Does the vga cable output at 1080p or 1080i

It supports any resolution up to 1080p which is 1920x1080 I beleive. I think the smallest is 640x480 although it may be diffrent.

Ok cool. Since the microsoft vga cable is pretty expensive here in Australia I was wondering whether it is the same package in the third party component cables like madcatz or futretronics

Should be but you will prob need your own white + red to 3.5mm jack if applicable.

If you get the official MS VGA kit, it comes with RCA to 3.5mm jack adaptor.

Ive got the offical kit and I knew that he was asking about 3rd party kits and i'm not experienced with them.
