Which system are you trying to install this on? A 133MHz laptop?

Sorry, I was just asking. Copy the I386 folder of the CD to your ZIP disk, boot with a DOS disk that has the ZIP drivers on it and then launch winnt /b. Please be aware that if this possibility has been "lited out" of the XPL ISO, then you can be pretty much out of luck.

But in this folder i didn`t find winnt.exe, can you edit boot.bin for me Link: http://www.fastdump.net/616362-boot.bin And boot from C:\xpl (not boot from CD)

It's not that easy. Here's a way it might work (notice the stress):

1) Copy the i386 folder to c:\ on your notebook. Don't put it in a subfolder, don't change its name.

2) Copy the identifiers (win51, win51ip, win51ip.sp2) and boot.bin to c:\

3) Format a floppy on an XP SP2 box and copy ntldr and ntdetect.com on it.

4) Create a boot.ini on the floppy containing this:

Code: Select all

[boot loader]
default=c:\boot.bin
timeout=10
[operating systems]
c:\boot.bin="Windows XP Setup"
If this doesn't work, then we'll have to get another boot sector. And if that doesn't work either, you're out of luck, unless you extract the HD from the notebook, install XPL on another PC and put it back...

It's a custom, Lite XP Professional version not made by MS.
