Go to the Public Servers section forum. There you can find a few Longhorn builds to download from Rapidshare. When you get into Advanced Members group, then you will have full access to BA servers and a rest of Longhorn builds.

In this thread you can have a small overview over all Longhorn Builds including many opinions from other users:
http://betaarchive.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7241

The earliest builds are the most stable builds. I used 4008 (but without Aero!) for the most time and it worked fine for me. 4074 & 4093 has included many eye candy (and Aero), but it's full with annoying issues.
In the end you have to find out by yourself what build is working the best for you. :)

I wouldn't bother with build 4008.

Just enable the 'new taskbar' in build 3718 by right clicking on the sidebar.

I also recommend to try 3683. If you're quite lucky, you may see a working avalon-based Personalization applet

Thats just a thing with 4074, some people get it, I don't.
Your not going to see Aero in Virtualbox, or any other Virtualisation program for that matter.

Also, it would be difficult to get Aero, if you have modern video-adapter. I was succeed in getting DWM/DCE working only in 3718 and 4039

Longhorn 3718 is very stable but without Aero(only ugly DCE)
Longhorn 4039 is VERY unstable so don't even try.
My favorite is 4028 but may things are broken including Aero so that build isn't interesting for you

Longhorn 4028 is x32 build leaked only(I Think) ... Longhorn build 4029 is not too stable and is quite same as 4028, but it si not server build. Build 4029 is also good build. If you want o try phodeo - Phodeo is in builds 4039 and 4066. Aero is in builds 4066,4074,(4093 ?). Longhorn build 4028 works fine for me, I recommend builds 4028 and 4029 to try ...

Only Longhorn build 5048 and above have Aero but they are very unstable.

DWM is in build 4093, it is just broken. If I recall correctly, it can be fixed with files from 4074.

I installed Windows Longhorn Build 3718. This build is very stable, but it is only XP + new skin & sidebar. He doesn't have Aero, but only DCE effects, for this reason this build is out. In the nearest time I'm planning install the builds 4029,4039,4074 & 4093.

It can't. I recall correctly, the Longhorn 08 team and the Longhorn Refined team (Remember that project based on 4093 that lasted all of a few weeks?) tried fixing it with 4074 files, but the builds were just a little too different for it to work.. I'm yet to see a successful attempt to get DWM working on 4093. 4093 is also one of the most buggy and broken builds of Longhorn I've had the displeasure to test.

Yes.Generally Build 3718 is cool, completely as XP.Unfortunately, has little 3D effects.
I tested Build 4039. He is good build, some unstable, but for me may be.
Later I will try Build 4074.

Good luck with this Build. :)

I had so many issues like driver problems, the memory leak, crashes,... with this build.

4028 and 4029 contains Phodeo too.
You have to merge next regfile:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer]
"Carousel"=dword:00000001
"LVSpy"=dword:00000001
"Panorama"=dword:00000001

Then you have to relogin in OS. After it you can choose Carousel View for icons - this action will enable 3D view of icons, and next pick Panorama view.
And about 4066, I found that build very slow for me
