Did anyone noticed that if you have a poll in phpBB2 and it has 3 votes (one for each option) the vote percentage will be 33+33+33 which equals 99?

IMO it's better having decimal percentage than approximate percentage.

Screenshot follows (it's from a poll I made today GMT-3):

I can't seem to find a two digit mixed number that will equal exactly 100.
33.3 * 3 = 99.9
33.4 * 3= 100.2

its not really a bug, more just the fact that they don't accommodate for decimal points

besides you cant actually divide 100 by 3 without going into reoccurring numbers its just impossible to actually give a dead accurate figure as we just round up the sum of 3 times 3.3333333* to make 100

*etc

As others have said, that is the correct mathematical way to do it. You could say 1/3, but once you got to different percentages, the fractions would be weird and huge. It's just supposed to be 33.33333..., as 2 33's and 1 34 would be wrong.

There's some way of mathematically proving 99.99999 is 100 - I can't remember of the top of my head (same as 0.999999 = 1)

Thats just some limitation of phpBB2 and I think it was fixed in phpbb3

It's not a life threatening bug either, it can be lived with,

I don't think that it is a big bug, I mean, it is just a little preview of the votes.

When it has to change, I don't think it is handy to use 33.333333 etc. but 33 1/3.
