This works with any 4-3-3-5 combination, and if you had the chinese MUI pack you'd see the characters correctly (some weird UTF-8 thing occurs)

Works in Windows 2000 as well.

Also, you have to start a new Notepad session each time for it to work. Then save the document. Close it. And then reopen it.

Likely a GB/Big5 encoding bug rather than easter egg.
I just did it and the characters were displayed, but those characters just don't make any sense.
If it's a true easter egg the characters should have some meanings.

Edit: The same file which displayed those strange characters in Notepad displayed fine in Total Commander's built-in lister program.
