SimCity 3000 Instructions Guide to creating a good city

Post by Bender »

I was bored, and I scanned in the guide. The guide itself wasn't created by me, I just scanned in the images.
Here is the first page (Reduced to 50%, then thumbnailed.)

Image

These scans are huge. Page 1 in PNG is originally 1173x1598x24bit

PNG Format
http://fireware.betaarchive.co.uk/Files/high.rar

JPEG Format
Lower quality JPEG images (3mb)

If you want PDFs, I can make them I guess.

I played SC2000 for DOS for the first time in about 5 years today. Awesome. It even runs pretty decently in VPC.

ulls out dusty simcity 3000 disc:

Interesting! I've been playing SimCity for SNES for a while now.
Since January 2005, I've been in the Operating Systems Prototype Community. I've enjoyed learning more these past four years about the development of the Windows and Macintosh operating systems, as well as learning of new user-based projects that optimize system performance.

Does anyone here play Sim City 4? The guide still works for Sim City 4.

When I was 7 the only game I played was Sim City 2000, and I kept on losing...

I have SC4 - better than 3000 I think (which I had before) - the only thing I can never seem to get right is transport, as my buildings always become abandoned because the commute time is too long! Even when I mix all three zones together (so people could in theory all live really close to where they work) most of the residential buildings still say Commute=Long!

it wasn't originally there, they made a separate release called SimCity 2000 Network Edition and you had to buy each square you built on

Does anyone have SimCity 2000 Network Edition? I'm intrigued ... though it doesn't seem to be on any of the abandonware sites.

Nice, thanks for the uploads. I got a huge guide with SimCity 3000 Unlimited though I've never actually read any of it. I like to figure stuff out on my own. Personally I like 3000 the best, though 2000 is certainly fun too. I bought SimCity 4 a while back and I thought it was horrible though.

I've never played the network edition though, sounds interesting.
edit: oh and didn't EA buy out Maxis before SC3000?
Yes, EA got them in 1997. I don't think they had much impact on it though. SimCity 4 on the other hand...
