"Not very fast" I'm going with exactly half of that (1024/128). And it's been, well, sufficient

My providor (NTL) is soon going to be offering 20Mbps and 50Mbps. No idea what the upload will be but tests on the 20Mbps had 768Kbps upload. 1Mbps was briefly tried during the tests.

They currently offer:

2Mbps/0.2Mbps
4Mbps/0.4Mbps
10Mbps/0.5Mbps

And hopefully:

20Mbps/1Mbps
50Mbps/5Mbps

In 2001, in France, we had 512/128kbits in the bigguest town for 45Euros/month.
At the same time, a friend was in japan. He had a 10Mbits symetric for ~15Euros ... so so so anoying at this time.
So be patient ..
