I was googling Windows 12, and I ended up finding articles on Microsoft already working on Windows 12!
The one I'm going to talk about is from ghacks.net, which lists these things about Windows 12:
Microsoft plans to drop part of the old foundation of Windows that is part of all versions of the operating system, including Windows 11.
Windows 12 will require a Microsoft Account for Home and Pro users.
The security chip Microsoft Pluton will be a requirement.
TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot will play a larger role.
Parts and bits of Windows 10X will be used.
I find it crazy that they're already working on it, and I've been making concepts with the name 1Q23 (1st quarter of 2023). That's when I guess it will release. The most likely release is 2025, when Windows 10 support ends. But Windows 8.1 support ends in 2023, so that must be the release date, I think.
I find it pretty crazy that Microsoft is working on Windows 12 already.

I hope they're not working on a new system like that, because it's still too early for me to being honest,but if they are, it would take a long time to be released, also i hope the requirements don't be too much high as Windows 11 is,at least the requirements would be the same for a time.
I'm really doubting some of these supposed "requirements" being there on release, maybe it is what Microsoft wishes they could, I mean it's Microsoft but requiring Pluton is really stretching it but hey windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 and the earliest cpu's with it integrated (not including laptops or servers) were intel gen 8 which came out 4 years ago, so if they wanted to release windows 12 in 2025 they would force people to upgrade to cpu's no older than 2-3 years (the only CPU so far I've seen with Microsoft Pluton is Ryzen 6000 and that's a laptop CPU) which is even tighter than TPM 2.0.

Aside from higher system requirements, expect more telemetry.
Microsoft is already being overreacted on by Windows users right now, mainly due to the TPM 2.0 requirement in Windows 11 and previously the Telemetry in Windows 10 (later pushed to Win 7 and 8 by an update released), and those all resulted in MS losing its users
And there was once a joke on Twitter, that said Win 12 would require two TPMs (the tweet was later deleted by the poster and they apologized for that)
But we hope Microsoft won't make Pluto a requirement, as that way they'll lose even more users, and lose popularity to Linux and Mac
IMO Windows 12 should bring back most of the interesting Longhorn/Vista features and also some from pre-XP era (i.e. MS Money, Internet Games and such)
I'm sticking with Windows 10 indefinitely for now. I'm planning on upgrading my laptop's SSD in a few months, and when that happens I might dual-boot linux, just so that I can get better with using it. I'm not a fan of where Windows is going and I might consider a switch when 10 loses support.
I collect old laptops and mess with old software.
My chosen virtual machine programs:
Win 9x+, Intel macOS: VMware
9x as well (and earlier): 86box
PPC Mac OS: QEMU

I will never upgrade to Windows 11 because of the direction Microsoft took. When Windows 10 support is over, I will switch to Linux instead.
Microsoft is not working on Windows 12. The tweet that started all of the rumors was meant as a joke. It was posted by SwiftOnSecurity as a joke. That should have been obvious when it said that Windows 12 would need 2 TPMs, which there is no real benefit to doing. Media took it a different way, I guess.
ever since i installed arch linux, i hate windows and microsoft. windows 12 is a huge scam and unethical "operating system" 2 tpms??? is this a joke? why not yall just switch to linux and avoid this windows nonsense.
There seems to be no real source for any of these rumors so I'd take it with a grain of salt until further evidence comes from leakers, or Microsoft themselves.

regardless whether the original tweet was a joke or not, windows 12 is coming, it's just business so it's very likely that they are actively working on it. As was the case in their recent editions, it will likely use the same core as windows 10/11 it will just have some new features, maybe they will revert the taskbar back to its proper position.
So they will keep developing features for win11 until they decide that after certain point, all new features will be branded as windows 12 and voila
I would say Windows 12 will be worked on for a possible release in either 2024 or 2025. That is my guess.
12 is def super far away, which makes me wonder as to why people are speculating on a nearby release day, or a feature set. As we've seen from previous releases, things get removed all the time!
Yeah? This applies for pretty much Windows version like AlphaBeta said. Some people didn't like blue Luna, some people complained about stability problems compared to Windows 2000, I could go on.
