(How-to) Change player names in Hearts (WfW 3.1x)

Post by Fanta Shokata »

Here's the guide how to change player names in Microsoft Hearts Network game (Windows for Workgroups only). Because Windows 3.1x uses registry only for type files, the system configuration information is stored inside system.ini and win.ini files.

First, you need to open win.ini file.
Then, go to [Hearts] section and add following three lines:
p1name=<playername>
p2name=<playername>
p3name=<playername>
<playername> is the name you want to show up in Hearts game.
Then save changes and close the file. You don't need to restart Windows.

Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Poland

I'm sure you can alternatively go to File -> Options and set the name yourself.

This can be done only in Windows 95 and later.
