I found this site while looking for old OS like so many before me. I collect x86 (and x86-64) OSs and run them on a beefy ESXi rig virtualized. I also love the old games, especially the SSI ones. I have a box of old stuff from the 286 days that might have some things that you don't yet.

Hi there. I Found BetaArchive when I was looking to make a video on upgrading from Windows Codename Chicago to Windows Codename Threshold/Redstone. The numerous amount of BetaArchive references from BetaWiki brought me here, and now the best way to get access to all of these betas is through BetaArchive. I hope that I get FTP Access and I am able to complete my project.

Hello :beta: community,

Long story short, I'm into software preservation in general and emulation preservation specifically. Been active since 1997. This seem like a cool place for what I'm passionate about.

Regards,
Ramon

Hi there BA,

joining in from Germany, using the Computer and Internet since 2005.
I too love old software and wouldn't want to lose something, that many might consider some form of art.

See you later,
TheKherut

Hello.
My hobby is programming in assembler. (My home PC is still run on Win XP x64 SP2 with newer Windows only in VMs)
24/06/2019 I created 1st COM server library completely written in assembler - 8kb size. sources are open.
I inspired by idea to make DX SDK antology with examples and tools in it completely rewritten in assembler. (And after creating COM server it is become possible task, because whole DX is built over COM)
This site is only place where I could found Microsoft DirectX 4.0 SDK (1996-02). Until yesterday I didn`t know that it is even exists.
That is not problem if I got download access later or even never - nobody knows that such version were released.
But for completeness I hope I could grab it.
Nice to know that such archive as betaarchive.com is exists.

I just wanted to say hello to the community. I have been a computer nerd since 1999 and as times have changed, things have changed, softwares have changed but legacy stuff is still the best that is why I joined this community where there are so many like minded people.

I haven't done an introduction yet, so I guess I'll do one now.
Hello! My name's Cosmo (you can call me Dodder). I gained my interest in betas at 15. I found this site a while ago from betawiki and now I'm here! I hope sometime in the future I can make a valuable contribution here, and I love the work being done here!

Hi there,
I am Alex and 35 years old I work in a company with 300 employees as a senior IT administrator with 3 employees under me. My hobby has been PC since I was 12 years old.
I started with Schneider PC and then continued with I486 DX and further with Pentium66 and Pentium100 and then the Pentium 166 dan to AMD Athlon XP 2000 overclocked to 2500Mhz with water cooling (water cooler). dan intel 1366 socket 4core overclocked to 4.2Ghz. then to 2066 12 Core ES at 4.2Ghz and there I am right now. I have the Asrock EXTREME 11 which can also address SAS hard drives.

From Schneider DOS to Windows 10 Build 2004, I am very familiar with hardware and software.
Debugging is my strength. and adjustments to Windows Iso's

I have at least 10 PCs at home and about 20 laptops.

I live near Munich.

greetings

Hi, I'm Rani. I've had a fondness for Microsoft software ever since my partner did a stint at Microsoft Research in Cambridge about a decade ago. She's moved on to another company now but we still have a lot of stuff in our apartment from that time, so I hope I can find something to contribute. I found out about this site by following some tweets back here, and I can't wait to get stuck in.

Hey, I'm Luca. I'm interested in the history of Windows. I'm surprised that there were so many leaked builds and want to test them.

Heyjo, wazzup y'all? I'm theANY. I know BetaArchive now for years and I thought it would be time to become a member of it and share some stuff with the world. First thing I will upload to the server will be a Crysis 3 beta I got with a PS3 TOOL (development console) which I used to compare some things. I am already packing up the files and do everything required so it does get added to the lib. So see y'around.

Hello, I'm a programmer and interested in the history and beta version of Windows and other software. I found Betaarchive in a forum by coincidence, and thought it's very comprehensive and useful for me to search for Beta version. I am very curious to see the treasure in the FTP server.

Hello,

i was looking for alpha beta versions of stalker (or oblivion lost). i stumbled across your site and signed up directly. an alpha version i owned was not in your inventory. i put it directly onto your ftp.

i don't have much else to offer for your collection, because i collect mainly console games and there is only one non-retail copy. I'm a big Silent Hill fan and I'm surprised that you can't find silent hills (aka playable teaser/p.t.) here. I couldn't find any special reason for this.

anyway, i'm honest and of course i'm primarily interested in your repository. you can discuss if you can participate in something without the associated files (early alpha and beta versions of games *sabber*).

just yesterday i gave myself half life 2 in the 2003 leaked alpha version on my retro pc (win xp, radeon 9800xt, asrock duals sata s939 with expansion card (2 am2 slot) and a soundblaster x-fi pic... to play the leaked alpha is the only way to see the borealis (and the arctic level). i suppose episode three would have played in the artic, or would have been at least a part of the game. i also have the unmodified source code of HL2, as it was leaked back then (i'm from germany). but that's not allowed here, i understood that.

well then, to a good time together.
