I've noticed that some files for Windows Mail still hang around in various places such as the Registry and the hidden AppData folder. My question is, if we take the missing files from Windows Vista and edit them, could we reconstruct Windows Mail and make it work on Windows 7 RTM. I imagine it would be possible considering there are Windows Mail leftovers in Windows 7. We'd just need the missing stuff from a Vista Install which includes the exe.

WinClient5270's Windows 7 to Vista transformation pack has windows mail (along with some other Vista stuff).

Will this work for Windows 8 or 10? I want to test it out.

Yeah, it should work, the registering .bat and reg files (even in the entire pack) most likely won't work.
