Hello.

Recently I was digging through some old software on a big Russian software archive website and found something that refers to itself as "Windows Neptune Build 5095". That archive is a qcow2 image ready for virtualizers. Downloaded it, now going to test.

Any information/replies will be appreciated.

Can you link the website?

Of course. Here's the link to the page: http://old-dos.ru/index.php?page=files& ... ow&id=1763. The Neptune 5095 image I downloaded is http://old-dos.ru/dl.php?id=20289.

It's true. Neptune build 5095 is likely a fake build for Windows Neptune. 5111 is the only Neptune build that's real. However, according to that page on old-dos.ru, it says that the build is somewhat real, it also says that the file is in the floppy format.

5111 certainly isn't the only real Neptune build...

Neptune 5095 may exist because some files were found in 5111. But the build from old-dos is fake.

Ok. BTW, how did you made that work? PCem and VBox give me a black screen even before Neptune boot screen, and VMware doesn't even let me insert the hard drive image.

I thought it was... But yeah, that isn't always certain, I don't think.

5095 almost certainly exists, but this copy is definitely fake. In 2015 a fake ISO of 5056 surfaced as well.
