Firefox 4 builds...

Post by Tootles »

... are apparently now being done. I have a build that I've just downloaded, which was built not long ago.

It can be downloaded from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... a-central/.

Interface is similar to Firefox 3. Includes the Gecko testing programs (mfcembed and winEmbed) as well.
Have a day.

OMG!
I love Firefox, yet, it's not compatible with any of my Addons, so I might wait, at least a bit!!
Thanks!
Interesting!

It seems to be very broken at the moment... ie: it doesn't work at all. I got it working on a college machine earlier on, but it won't even install on my machine at home, or any of the laptops.
Have a day.

Yeah, It also works for me, yet my addons no!!!
So, Since we don't even have FFX3 ready, well, I'd wait a bit more.
Thanks!!

I haven't tried it yet, and dont intend to, I tried FF3 and all my bookmarks didn't load, and History was messed up, So I went back to my roots -- FF2

Strange. The latest Firefox 3 Build gets 69/100 Not much, but not expected
Opera 9.5 Beta gets 60/100 and Latest release Safari gets 39/100 for comparison

Its a pre-alpha version, a daily trunk build, so it isnt.

But it is not intended for daily use, its just a trunk build with the new Gecko 2 engine, but the rest is te same as in 3.0b5pre.

Yeah, the addons very rarely support the nightly (alpha) builds of Firefox. Firefox in itself has addon support, it's just that the addons don't support this version of Firefox.

I am using it daily and i never have any problems with it at all. Is it crashing for anyone?

It will be a while until they release a real alpha anyway, there is loads of talk about release dates on the newsgroups. it's hard to make sence on any of it
