Windows 7 M2 released!

Post by WeirdEars »

Well, sort of...It's a concept video I made of what I imagine Windows 7 would look like. It incorporates ideas from lots of concept screens I have seen, such as the roller wheel in the top-left corner. It features music by Pulp from their 'Different Class' album (which is AWESOME!) and sounds from the Vista beta. A lot of the icons were taken from DeviantArt, and there is a full list of credits in the video description.

Enjoy!

Hi-res version coming up in a bit...

The mouse was added with Premiere Pro, and such a small, fiddly object was incredibly difficult to animate.

EDIT: Here are some hi-res pictures (credits are the same as in the YouTube video)

EDIT 2: Hi-res MPG version (about 18MB) available here.

Cool video, but btw:
Those sounds were never in the Vista betas.
Vista betas had XP sounds until the transition to the RTM sounds.
Those sounds are an unofficial third party sound pack, (which I really enjoy).

I like the bootscreen but is it 16 colours (or do you think they will break the barrier that also 16 million colours can be used.

Keep up the good work.

They could make 16 mln (or even more) colours boot image long time ago but they didnt want ntoskrnl.exe to load drivers because if there was a problem with a driver it would be impossilbe to boot to safe mode...

IMO, they did that so they could use the BootVid (16 Colour Boot VGA Driver) Module without changing a lot of code.

Vista WinLoad uses 24-Bit Colour.
