According to people associated with the deal the Yahoo! board will refuse Microsoft's bid on Monday, claiming that the bid undervalues Yahoo!.
The Yahoo! board has seen numerous presentations from management and bankers demonstrating why Yahoo is worth more than the $44.6 billion offer from Microsoft.
According to the International Herald Tribute people familiar with Microsoft's plans have said that Microsoft's next move is likely to be a Behind-the-Scenes campaign to convince Yahoo!'s major shareholders to pressure the board into selling out.
This is interesting, however I wouldn't want to be in Yahoo!'s management team right now, it seems as if Microsoft's going to throw the kitchen sink at Yahoo! until they decide to sell.
Microsoft have been attacking Yahoo! for a while now, the following email was recieved by an unimpressed promising Yahoo! employee in January (this is old news, but its humorous, and relevant.)
The company's outlook isn't entirely grim however, on the 7th Feburary they lauched Yahoo! Live, a live streaming site which allows anyone with a webcam to stream live video of themselves to a dedicated site. Although it's still in the experimental stage Techcrunch posted a very damning article about the new service, to quote "If we were putting together a report card on Yahoo Live, day one would simply read FAIL".Hi [Talented Yahoo Employee],
