If you use the Search Charm in 8.1, then yes.

If you hit the Windows key and start typing, you still get the start menu. And in Windows 8.0, it'll still go full screen and display the search results there instead of within the sidebar.

Yea, that's what I was referring to, I wasn't aware that 8.1 had a sidebar for searching, that's a plus.

Just to note, search bar appeared in Windows 8 first.

Just to note, you clearly completely missed the point. The point being opening the search charm from the desktop in Windows 8 opens metro full-screen. In Windows 8.1, the search sidebar overlays the desktop and the results are displayed in this, rather than the full-screen metro interface.

Nope. Windows 9 won't have start menu, it will still contain start screen.

And you know this how? I didn't know you worked at Microsoft and were one of their key developer managers... please, tell us more :). And has there even been an official confirmation that Windows 9 is in development?

Seriously, do you have any source or proof for your assumption? Because it's no more than that, a biased guess.

Windows 9 will have Aero again, so probably it will have Start Menu again.

Source for your claims? Also, 8 and 8.1 has aero too.

Aero never left. Windows 8 still has the Aero GUI, it has only evolved.

Edit: Wheatley beat me.

The way you formatted your post, it sounds like you are 100% sure that those will come back, which at this point is merely rumors.

Hahahah. WinBeta. They'll report anything as fact, regardless of how absurd it is.

Enough said. The same idiot that said that Windows 8 was ready around build 8888, when we all know that 8888 was a jump.
