it is a bit old news 21 Jun 2013 but it is def useful...

Code:
We’ve hit out third and final Beta which will be followed up by the official release in the fall. Actually, there will be a Beta 3 refresh in a few weeks, but we’ll talk more about that another day. At this point, the product is feature frozen and we are ready to fine tune the experience for release. In fact, you will notice that the preview features have been removed as we want to focus on the quality of some core features first. But we have so much value bottled up that it’s time to light the rocket.  You’ll need to uninstall Beta 2 first before installing the new version.

Beta 3 is available on our Connect site
You have to sign-in and join our site on https://connect.microsoft.com. After creating an account on Connect, you can join our site by looking in the Directory. My connection below shows that I’m already joined.

Microsoft Message Analyzer is the successor to Microsoft Network Monitor.

Message Analyzer is more than a network sniffer or packet tracing tool.

Key capabilities include:

     • Integrated "live" event and message capture at various system levels and endpoints

     • Parsing and validation of protocol messages and sequences

     • Automatic parsing of event messages described by ETW manifests

     • Summarized grid display – top level is “operations”, (requests matched with responses)

     • User controlled "on the fly" grouping by message attributes

     • Ability to browse for logs of different types (.cap, .etl, .txt) and import them together

     • Automatic re-assembly and ability to render payloads

     • Ability to import text logs, parsing them into key element/value pairs

     • Support for “Trace Scenarios” (one or more message providers, filters, and views)

what exactly is Microsoft Message Analyzer or Network Monitor? "Network sniffer and packet tracing tool" now I could be off here but this is hacker terminology right

A packet tracing tool basically gives you visibility into the OS network stack, by allowing you to look at the content of the data units processed by the stack.
While "hackers" can make use of a packet tracing tool, this is not mainly aimed at them.
Systems and network administrators also need such tools, for purposes such as network troubleshooting, performance tuning and security auditing.
It can come handy also to students who want to better understand how computer networks work.
I learned a lot of stuff just by having a look at Wireshark's output.

Agreed.
Downloaded this tool and was impressed by the range of capture sources on offer. I've not had a chance yet to try out properly, but there's some interesting references in here, like the one below:

If a system's network interface supports promiscuous mode, a network protocol analyzer can parse all traffic on the interface, not merely protocols supported by the operating system.
