Forum rules

Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

You need 10 (ten) contributing posts.

http://www.betaarchive.co.uk/contributions.php

---

Build 2462 is Beta 2.
Builds 2400-2464 are the prebeta versions.
Builds >2462 = Pre RC0 Builds

Just do what I did and make a lot of fun surveys. That will get you 10 contributing posts.

If you look in a thread you've contributed in, ie. this one, find a post that you have made, ie. the one above this one, and look just underneath your name.

However, you should not make 10 useless posts just to get to the downloads. The idea is that you become a part of the community before you can get to the downloads, instead of signing up, downloading everything, and then leaving. This is called leeching, and it's not wanted here.

You won't get the FTP addresses, until you get 10 posts. These have to be 10 posts which contribute to the forum. Our Admin will look at your posts to see if they contribute. Right now, even though you're close to 10 posts, it's doubtful that you will get access to the FTPs, as most of your posts are just asking for something, or asking about how to get to the downloads.

More information on this here.

They don't seem contributing posts, I see I need 10 posts, and how. Meaning no spamming! (which you had done)
Discuss whistler and why you like it, what you don't like and what do you want to do with it are some of the question you can ask.

Many people don't ask for whistler these days, what intrests you, donaldmylife?

Why not just use XP then? Whistler is a beta, you wouldn't want to actually use it.

2202 gave me a bsod since it doesn't work on vpc, but everything from 2211, 2223 and 2250 ran great
2257 to 2410 have ddraw problems, never brother fixing it. 2296 was calso useless, alot of the softwares woudn't install, considering that 2296 is beta 1, I don't know what MS is doing.
2410 to 2419 being the last watercolour builds ran and looked better than 2296.
everything form 2428 onwards all install prefectly like XP does.

You must have installed the builds wrong or had some incompatable hardware. (make sure you bios are set correctly)

With build 2202 you must boot with windows 98 bootdisk and fdisk, format here.

And then start setup with smartdrive (load smartdrv from 98 se bootdisk) and then start setup from the i386 (wich you have copy with all files and folders to harddisk) from c:\i386\winnt.exe

Then it works fine.

Only difference with windows 2000 is the build tag.

Only i have problem with 2428 ontoward with logging in, it says:

I can log in with safe mode, can someone please help.

Time and data are correct, this was the error in the setuperr.log:
Quote:
Setup could not register the OLE Control C:\WINDOWS\System32\msxml.dll because of the following error:
LoadLibrary returned error 126 (7e).

I will install it again to try it again, otherwise i will download it again from the server.

Problem fixed.

Had to use another key, DO NOT use the RBDC9- key at builds 2428 onwards.

Use this key: DTWB2-VX8WY-FG8R3-X696T-66Y46
(suggested in the 2430 professional NFO)(on ftp)

MS likes to blacklist keys.

I didnt have to activated it, just enter this key and no activation (still 30 days left) and it cant call home because i have the network on LOCAL ONLY, wich connects it to other VMs and not the internet and host pc.

Wow, it looks like no one looks in hivesft.inf.

However this line may help you:
Code:
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon","Activation Required",0x00010001,1

Change the 1 to a 0 so the line reads:
Code:
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon","Activation Required",0x00010001,0

There is no need for a winlogon patch for 24xx builds.
