I will never again support the RIAA

Yes, I know that it the Recording Industry Association of America, so it may not pertain to everyone here, but this makes me freaking mad...

Edit: Thought this comic was funny, even though it says it's legal to copy cds..:

I'll admit it.
I've pirated music before and still do. Why though?
If I like the album...I'll buy it...and sadly I'm not buying alot of albums lately...

IF the RIAA/etc ever came knocking on my door...I'd be asking them why they were illegally spying on me...

They don't realize jack [censored], the RIAA consists of people in their 50s with power, they'll do whatever they need to do to hold on to that power.

The RIAA and MPAA are organisations that exist solely to make money for themselves, their shareholders and the labels they represent.
The main problem is that they are unwilling to adapt, and therefore they fight back with whatever means they have, their most common weapon is the lawsuit and the dreaded lobbying.
Really though, a lot of paralells can be drawn between fundamentalistic religious groups and them, they see change coming and are threatened, since they are now largely irrelevant.
Let's sperg about hardware

If ripping CD's is not legal why would programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player be allowing us to rip them then? Surely they know we aren't going to write a letter to the copyright holder so we can rip it.

It's so amusing to watch a major big business like the RIAA grasp at straws.
