And this came on four floppys instead of five. If I remeber right, it had 10 or 15 files less than 1.01.

But maybe they had used the new version (1.01) also to integrate more/new drivers.

afaik 1.00 was out in 1983... not 1985 cause thats when 1.01 was out, so if you see a zip/files/etc named Windows 1.0 with a date of 1985 its 99.999% most likely fake...

That would only be if the original Interface Manager demo was actually Windows 1.00.

AFAIK, 1.00 was (supposed to be?) released in August 1985.

But there never was a 'full' or 'official/complete' version of 1.0 was there?

Nobody seems to know, strangely - some say Interface Manager was 1.0 and that's why thee first Windows was 1.01, some say 1.00 was never releases, some say it was released and then recalled a few weeks later...

I have just asked my teacher who has windows 1.00 from microsoft to bring it to school so i can make images of it. (If he can find it).

He said that it comes on 2 or 3 disks.

I will check the logo.sys and if its is the REAL thing i will post it here and upload it.

Please be patient.

@Andy

I it is the REAL thing and upload it, can i be an VIP member?

If it really really really is it, then I think we can arrange something. I highly doubt it is though. It'll probably be 1.01.

I the hard drive began to make a sound like if it was turning on/off all the time, then just your power supply isn't good enough. Try to disconnected another drive that you dont need.

Or just get a powersupply that has more power.
If that didnt work, i dont know what to do.

Does anyone actually have this supposed link to MS's server though? Looking at other pictures of Windows 1.0x running on that same IBM screen, I would say the "Premiere Edition" one looks fake as the image goes right to the very edge of the screen, whereas the other picture shows that there should be a black border (as there always was on older CRT screens).

Or maybe a power cable from an IDE to USB cable set would do... 8-)
