Hello all,
After seeing some recent images by "joecool" and them having a watermark on them, I wondered if it would be a good idea for us to do this on all images via the imageuploader.
This is easily implementable into the script as it already works on phpGD. Its probably just a line or two of code to implement the feature. This would deter people from claiming they "own" the image and its their original because it would have our watermark on it. Even if it is easily photoshopped out on some images, someone would have to go through great trouble to do it on others.
At the same time I'll try and work on the multiple file upload feature everyone has been asking for, and if possible, the quality bit as well (although unsuccessful the last two times I tried).
don't make it right in the middle of the image, cause then it kinda distracts from the image or covers up the main point of it.
or just have a BA logo like the xp flag with BA on top
I was thinking top left corner as that is easiest. Never put images on using GD before. Something I'll have to experiment with if people like the idea.
This sounds like a good idea, but could they have a small watermark in the bottom right hand corner like eBay images have?
And having the option to watermark the image or not would also be good
Having it in the bottom right would add a lot of effort to the coding. eBay images are all the same size once converted, however BA's images are not. The script would have to dynamically find the bottom right of the image depending on its size. Its just hassle if you ask me. Top right is easy as the image will always have the same top right area.
I think it would be a good idea, but as suggested, perhaps an option to watermark certain images could be useful? Maybe a trial period of voluntary, then mandatory watermarking, to see which went more smoothly?
