Hi Andy,

im a moderator at the ex- SRN and now retestrak.nl forum.
you may have heard of tinyXP or tiny2003 - 'eXPeriences' work
we like you had a huge amount of bandwidth and was causing us BIG problems,
we have right now 21229 members but that will go up before i finish!
basically what we did for a time was put in place an invite only system (this caused a lot of problems so we got rid of that) and have now blocked all viewing unless you are regged, this has made our bandwidth go down considerably.
also we had problems with search engine spiders like google and yahoo making us pop on the searches which we didnt want!

maybe you should consider stopping browsers and making people reg to see the fora?

kind regards,
Ali

250mb ish a day is no problem, we have 1000GB of bandwidth a month. We would have to top 33GB a day for it to become a problem, thats 132x the current amount!

We actually want to be seen on google. Doing that brings in more people, thus more traffic, thus more information and thus making us popular!

what did i tell you?! 21275 members now!!

well with that much bandwidth its not a problem! i think we are on a lot less than that!
there are 5 of us who mod the forum (well active anyway!) and with so many new members things are becoming an issue!
we dont like new people coming into the mod team after problems before - psycho mods!!
also with everyone having a different modding style 5 is a good number to keep away the conflicts,

well i'd just like to say your running a great site here

We don't have too many mods here either. We have had people ask to become a mod in the past and I've had to politely say no for the same reason.

Thanks for the compliment.
