Adjust the date to one shortly after the compile date.

Longhorn and XP have an expiration it checks your time against the compile time if they are more than 1 year apart then it won't let you install.

But then you have to keep your clock that way forever or until you remove Longhorn/Whistler because it checks on boot up it won't login if your time is past the compilation by more than a year.

That's why I would recommend using a Virtual PC like Microsoft VirtualPC 2007 then adding the time sync value.

You need to set your BIOS date/time to conform EXACTLY with the Longhorn compile date.

Thanks for the advice on my problem with Longhorn & Whistler.

I've tried adding the following to my Virtual PC .vmc file,

<host_time_sync>
<enabled>false</enabled>
</host_time_sync>

I then change the BIOS date on the Virtual Machine to the necessary dates, the problem I have is that it keeps reverting back to today's date and thus I still can't install Whistler or Longhorn.

Am I doing something wrong here or is there something else that needs adding to the .vmc file??

Shouldnt it be set to "true" not false?

No, I think "false" is correct because it applies to the fact of being enabled. He then sets the VM's date back. It seems he has done everything correctly...
