Includes betas and abandonware I'm personally interested in. I'm only including a single archive part per release, but there's possibility of dupes and already leaked stuff obviously. Please note he said he does not necessarily have all these, so don't get too excited for something.

It will be nice if he does have them, but I'm wondering about the following:

MS Win f. Workgroups 3.11 Rel.Candidate#3 1/8 - Could it be build 411?

CHICAGO - WINDOWS 4 / DOS 7-BETA-DISK: 01/10 - Could be 58s, but can be also some 6x build as well.

WINDOWS NT V1.0 BETA 20.7.92 DISK: 3/10 - Could be build 297, or some early 3xx build.

No one can be able to confirm this until he/she has a copy, so good luck!

It's quite possible these are the builds you mentioned. After all, they were originally scene leaks and can still be found in their original form today. I'd take quite some luck to find something new, provided that he first even has the files.

Chicago is probably the most likely one to be already leaked, since the only scene leak at that time that I know of was 58s.

There doesn't seem to be a standalone release of NT 4.0.1314.1 Workstation on the FTP, only seems to be in compilations, so I've upped my PWA copy I got.

True, though the MSDN copy contains all of the extra stuff you would see in a major beta release...

Can you post a full list of items you got from him? It would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It looks like http://scize.hopto.org/ went offline. It's me, or this website is down for ever? I was mainly interested on these:

Code: Select all

V_BASIC1.ZIP 1025744 05-01-91 MS-VISUAL BASIC V1.0 F. WINDOWS
WORKS1-7.ZIP 953110 03-20-93 MICROSOFT WORKS V3.0 PROF. EDITION 1/7

If everything goes according to plan I'll be receiving a harddisk filled with a large bunch of his stuff next week or so. I'll see what I can find that's of interest and post/upload it

I'll keep you updated

I sent him a HDD with lots of unprocessed stuff from my collection (before anyone asks: no new betas, these are already on the FTP here) and he agreed to fill it up with stuff from his collection before he sends it back.

Got a HDD full of stuff today, but it's ~500g so it'll take some time sorting it all out. I don't think there are a lot of new BETAs in there (I know that someone else on this forum already uploaded most of SCiZE's BETA-related stuff in the past) but I'll keep a lookout anyway. Will keep you updated

I'll also check the requests in this thread and upload whatever I can find (at least if it's something not yet on BA's FTP)

Well, I could post a list of possibly interesting things I've requested quite some time ago (after Win 3.0 RC6) and haven't received yet. Seeing that you seem to have it now, would you be kind enough to check it? Basically things that have the highest probability of being something new.

I might be on to something here. I just browsed through the collection and found a few possibly unreleased Windows 2000 betas (neither in the MCB nor on the BA FTP). Build numbers (taken from NTOSKRNL.EXE) are the following
  • Server(?) Build 1835
  • Server Build 1964
  • Professional Build 1965
  • Professional Build 1969
  • Professional Build 1994
  • Professional Build 2020
  • Professional Build 2151
I can't really believe that these are all unreleased versions, but I'll uploading them to BA anyway. Anyone knows if they are legit?

I'll check Windows 95, 98 and ME next...

I'm pretty sure someone at #RIS IRC told me that these are being processed just on SoftHistory. So I'm pretty sure these are legit. Anyway, a millinillion thanks go to you for offering, Darkstar! :)

Can you elaborate a bit on the "not processed on BA" part? Do you mean they will not be accepted? If so, why?

Also, I cannot search for specific build numbers, I just check every folder with "beta" or "rc" or similar in it for the NTOSKRNL.exe file and use that as build number to post here. But I'll keep you updated

Damn you beat me by a few hours... So you did already upload all that here? If not then I will ;-)

I have some of the other stuff that's been requested in this thread (and that's not been proven as existing leak) uploaded here (all in one zip file, ~160mb, because I was too lazy)

I will provide more stuff as I find it, that stuff is a lot to go through, especially since it's a little bit unsorted (some ISOs, some ZIPs and 7z files, some zipped ISOs, some collections with filelists and some without) so a lot of digging required

I've checked the WIN3-X.ZIP archives and converted the TD0s inside, and discovered they were just Windows 3.00a which is available everywhere, so that's just covering old ground. His betas have mostly already been checked by me and others.

Speak for yourself, I've checked Office 97 (Technical Beta build 3319) and it's fresh material. I've found a crapload of new builds that didn't have "beta" or "prerelease" written all over them, latest example being Windows 3.0 RC6. Everything is worth checking out (as long as you have the time and will to do it), even if it turns out to be nothing of value. Every now and then and nice little gem pops up and it's a nice reward if you ask me.

Doom Alpha is the April alpha that is available online, Merlin build 14 is actually 8.239 which is already leaked, MS-DOS 6 Demo is build 0015 bootdisk, DOS5-X is the same old 333.

EDIT: Uploaded Office 97 beta. Screenshot:
