My first was System 6.1 (Macintosh), but my first PC OS was Windows 3.1...typing class in 4th grade :-) The quciker we got done with our assignments, the quicker we could play Wolfenstein 3D. YEAH!

When I was between the ages of 4 and 7, I was using a machine with MS-DOS 3.3 on it. I then migrated to DOS 4, and eventually DOS 5. We got Windows 95 sometime around August of 1996. I remember the upgrade version on floppy cost us $99USD. We eventually bought a new machine in February of '97, which came with Windows 95 OSR2 (USB support). That machine lasted less than 2 years (a Sony VAIO PCV-100), which I ended up rebuilding with a crappy FIC motherboard, and installed 98SE on it. From there, I installed ME and eventually graduated up to Windows 2000. I then built a few systems for the family, and went from Windows 2000 to the devilsown Windows XP, until SP1 came out. Then I used some cracked copies of XP up until a year ago, when I bought a copy of XP MCE, for use with my Xbox360 (before WMP11 offered video streaming). In between 1999 and up through now, I've been using various distributions of Linux. I've preferred Gentoo Linux in years past, but currently prefer Ubuntu. I've also bought my very first Mac this year.

My 1st computer had windows 2.1 on IBM dos 3.2.
2mb of ram & a 512k svga graphics, on some generic brand
motherboard & a 40mb hard drive that would make a hell of a racket.
25mhz cpu, & some sound card that was the entire length of the inside
of the case.
Cost me way too much money.

At home it was Windows 3.1, quickly went to Windows 95.
At school it was Mac OS 7 (I'm pretty sure - we had the machines in 99, they were manufactured in 94.)

Does the Sinclair ZX80's (no, not the ZX81, I mean the ZX80, the one you actually had to assemble yourself) basic/OS qualify? :^)

My first Operating system was Windows 3.11 > Windows 95 Plus > Windows 98 SE > Windows ME now im using Windows XP Pro.

I still like to play around with the older operating systems in virtual machines.

MS-DOS 5.0 + Windows 3.1 back in 1992. Something I'd not really like to remember because it (Win3.1) crashed all day long. NT 3.1 was so much better, even though it was a typical "first version".

Mine was German MS-DOS 5.00, on a 386 Amstrad PC, with around 2-4 MB of RAM, 40 MB hard disk, and a good ole' VGA graphics card. I was 6 years old back then, and my father brought that PC from Germany. Later on, my mother brought from her job English MS-DOS 5.00, and Windows 3.1 Build 068 (hence where those files I still have of it came from).
Some years later, came the 486 PC with English MS-DOS 6.22, and Windows 3.1 for Central and Eastern Europe, 1993 version (don't ask me, how it was possible to get that one in Brazil, but everything is possible with my mother). On that PC, eventually came MS-DOS 6.20 as well, later on, 6.22 again, and then, finally, Windows 95 Upgrade U.S. version, and later the Pan-European version as well, and occasionally, I used the Russian version on it as well. This is the first PC that I've used with a sound card, even though it was added onto it later on, as an upgrade, and caused Windows 3.1 to crash a lot.
Then, came the Pentium 100 MHz PC, without any OS, but on which I installed the good ole' Pan-European Windows 95. Then, came Windows 98 (English, Slovenian, and Italian), Windows 98 SE (both English, and Russian, and later on, European Portuguese, Slovak, and even Hebrew).
In the mean-while, I temporarily got a Celeron 333 MHz PC, on which I was running English Windows 98 SE. Temporarily, because I managed to over-clock it to the point of breaking it beyond repair, and having to return to the old Pentium 100 MHz PC. However, its hard disk went to that PC as well.
Also, that Celeron 333 MHz PC established my habit of dividing the hard disk into 4 partitions, using my name + the partition number (counting from 1), written as a word, as their volume labels, which I continue having to this date, and my current PC's hard disk is organized in the same way as well.
So well, I was stuck on that Pentium 100 MHz PC until late 2003, when I got, as my Christmas gift, the PC I still have (albeit slightly upgraded since then) - a Celeron (III it says, some people claim it can't be, though) 2400 MHz. Initially, it had 256 MB of RAM, and a CD-RW drive, however, now, it has 768 MB of RAM, and a DVD+/-RW drive. The hard disk has been the 60 GB one since the very beginning, and I've used a wide range of operating systems on it. From Windows 98 SE in Slovak, and both European, and Brazilian Portuguese, to Windows 2000 Server in Polish (and it was slow as heck as well), and Windows 2000 Professional in Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese. And now, I'm using Windows XP Professional Volume License Version, with Service Pack 2 (I'm going to upgrade it to Service Pack 3 as soon, as its final version gets released), and a LEGAL key I got for free.
I also have an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0 GHz PC sitting in a corner somewhere, currently broken, because I managed to destroy its processor by taking it out, and then putting it back in, incorrectly turned. But oh well, one day, it's going to get repaired, or at least I hope so.

Well, that would be it for now. ;)

First Mac was: Mac OS X 10.4. What can I say? I used to be a hardcore Windows User

First Windows was: Windows 98

First PC was: some Unix OS that I accidentally broke. That's when we bought the 98 computer.

My first computer was a mac that was probably running System 7 at the time but it may have been MacOS8. I would play Midnight Rescue all the time so much fun. Later we got another one that ran 8.5 which I still have the disc to, and we later upgraded to a g3.
My first windows was a computer running some version of windows, not really sure but it may have been 3.11, no clue b/c I was about 2 at the time. Later we got a Compaq running win 98, probably not for long though... Its still running that but not for long, now we have a comp running xp.
As for linux I've never been able to get any of them to run so I have yet to try any. I'm getting another spare laptop so I guess ill try again
