What on Earth is the device name for the floppy? I've been looking it up so I can install it on an old laptop I've got hanging around, but it just isn't working. I've tried every name I can think of, but none of them work.

I just want to mount /usr for goodness' sake - I know I've done it before, but all of the resources have all bloody well disappeared!

Maybe this will help?

==Edit==
Looks like its /dev/fd0, same on *nix systems.

OR just /fd0

Device names are different between different versions of MINIX. That's 2.0.0; I'm trying to install 2.0.3.

Thanks, fd0p2 worked :).

EDIT1: Now I'm part way through installing it, I'm thinking of software - can anyone tell me where I can get any from? At the least, I would like Rogue and GCC!

EDIT2: Oh, and the MAN pages, I forgot to disk them when I made the disk set I have :).

AIX 4.1.5
You should be able to compile gcc 1.4.2 or maybe even gcc 2.7.2 with ack (the minix ansi c compiler).

You could try this: http://www.minix-vmd.org/pub/Minix-vmd/gnu (aparently some hacked source to make gcc work on minix-vmd).

Try the packages done for Minix3 (also the binaries). The disk format is different (and incompatible), but the exec format is the same, so you could probably build a cross-compiler on some Linux box!

http://www.minix-vmd.org/cgi-bin/raw/source/std/2.0.3. The same site have also a browsable version (it is for Minix-VMD, but there are few differences.)
