Here's somthing for the *nix users to try. (I dunno if it works the other way around, but meh)

Install XP as a guest with additions.

Then use the file menu and enable 'seamless mode'.

It drops XP's panel at the bottom above the gnome (for me) panel.

Looks pretty swish and lets me compress movies or run other windows programs when I cba to boot into Windows. & it only uses one of my cores.

No lag for the linux system =]

Yes, I have VBOX with Windows XP running on my ArchLinux Box in seamless mode.
It's a very nice feature.
