Don't know if I mentioned this but, I'm the school's Linux Team. We have decided to run Ubuntu on some old PC.

Anyway, we need programs that can be used that can read some Proprietary extentions e.g .PSD

What are your recommendations?

In our school we have:
Sony Vegas 8
Adobe CS3 Web Premium
MS office (Supported by OpenOffice that comes with Ubuntu)
Xara Xtreme

That's pretty much it...

well for psd you could use wine and isntall photoshop cs2. ms office 2007 works fine too.

for some other applications you can have a look at this german website. On the left column are a lot of windows applications and on the right there are some applications that do the same in linux. Maybe it helps :)

You can even run cs3.
Not long ago, they fixed the setup for cs3 in a new version of wine!
