Post subject:  Windows Longhorn Build 3683 logon screen

I read a topic somewhere here about porting the logon screen from Longhorn Build 3683 to Windows XP. Please could somebody tell me if one could really do this and if anybody has tried it? Thankyou! :)

Howcome it is so easy to port the logon screen from Build 4015 of Longhorn to XP just by simply copying across the logonui.exe and wluiapi.dll files, whereas it is very difficult to port the Build 3683 of Longhorn logon screen to XP?

Because Longhorn has APIs that XP doesn't? Particularly for the logon screen.

Common Sense and thinking the obvious kinda does help. Windows is actually a really logical thing, like almost everything in computing.

But I thought that because Build 4015 of Longhorn is higher up than Build 3683, it would be harder to port the logon screen than try to port the logon screen from Build 3683. I noticed in your protoplex project for Build 3718 of Longhorn, it uses Build 4015's logon screen.

Wow, that looks cool. Reminds me of the "old times" when Longhorn was still the next os after XP.
