you may have a corrupt file and also from my experience, Lindows is not that good. Try Ubuntu, openSUSE, Debian, etc those are good Linux systems with ever growing hardware support and applications.

Which burning program have you used to burn the iso? Have you tried to install it on another computer?

Hey OP, where did you get that anyway? I've been dying to get my hands on a copy of the first beta release of Lindows. My best friend paid to get into the beta program when we were in highschool and I remember messing with it. In the first build, not only did they steal the Windows mouse cursor, but I recall them going so far as to actually rename all the system files to end in .dll so as to appear to be Windows like.

It was a great idea - but really turned into a hot mess - getting MS all in their grill over the name - and while the package management was ok - most folks just couldn't get their heads around it. Made for the availability of some nice, cheap PC's though.

Wow. I didn't know Lindows/Linspire/Freespire was still around. If you're looking for Windows support in a *nix system, though, it's probably best to use WINE or CrossOver (though Crossover isn't free....). I use WINE fairly often, and it actually works really well, without all the hassle of needing a whole separate distro to run Windows stuff.
Yawn.

I think I have some Linspire and Lindows versions on my HP.
I just need the hard drives switched back round and I can check.
