Hi There

1. How do you decrease the ISO size so that it can burn as a single-layer DVD

If I remember a post from someone here, it was removing things like languages, printer drivers, Developer Tools (downloadable free from Apple's website), etc. Pretty much anything you know you don't need.

you can open up the dmg image and remove what you don't need. I never actually done it before.
9a466 is a beta build, so it's only good for testing.
also, if you plan to run it on non-mac hardware, you will need to patch it (don't ask me, i never done it before)

did you go to disk utility and image the .cdr as a cd/dvd master it will come out again as a.cdr which is really an .iso you can rename it and its always worked for me

It's quite simple :
1: open Disk Util
2: mount the dmg of 9a466 or any other OS X dvd
3: restore the dmg to a external HDD
4: view hidden files in finder
5: On the external drive , look for the System/Installation/packages folder
6: Delete all useless packages
7: IN disk util, make a copy of the partition with 9a466 on the external HDD
8:now you've got your lightweight DVD
