These are screenshots of a pre-0.85 beta of Mac OS, from Macworld January 1984. The only difference I see is that "Alternate Disk" icon. In the 0.85 beta it's "Unknown Disk."

The wiki mentions screenshots of earlier versions than even this one:

Quote:
Earlier Releases

Only one clear screenshot has leaked of a pre-0.78 OS which appears to have the same features but has Twiggy disk icons. In advertisements for the Macintosh 128k, a old version (0.6x?) of the System software is shown with Lisa-like features, including a Twiggy icon, a "Scraps" folder (?), a Clock program, and "Trash Can" and "Wastebasket" as names for the Trash.

It is worth noting that releases before 3.x are usually buggy and unstable, and should not be used on your vintage Macintosh computer if you want it to do anything useful.
System 0.78

Screenshots of this build were provided in the BYTE magazine in 1984. This version has a black background and has the Arrange menu.

Does anybody have the screenshots of these?
