I don't know if anyone has heard but Microsoft is going to be releasing its new personal assistant called Cortana soon. Its going to be using Bing's engine is what I have heard and is supposed to be the new best thing. What do you think?

Sounds like a great add on to windows phone, I heard it will come out in April this year bundled with Windows Phone 8.1. I wonder if it will boost the sales of windows phone. They are also naming it Cortana after a character in their game Halo.

Some icons have been leaked, that suggest possible future commands.

I don't think I would want to have Cortona on my Windows Phone. My question is does it work offline since it relays on bing, because not every where you go will have internet.

It would be better to use it where you had Internet access or if you had a network plan, that's it.

I can only imagine it'll require an interrnet connection for most services. Although the current voice recognition thing allows for some commands to be done offline, such as 'Call' then the persons name.

For internet searching, looking up recipes, or finding out scores, etc. fill probably rely on internet, but the service itself is offline, along with general chat, calling, texting, or launching an app.
