I run Windows 7 7201 (surprisingly stable, except for the occasional spontaneous network disconnection), and the Superbar is starting to become a tad annoying. So is there a way to disable the SuperBar? I know you can manually turn all the [censored] off, but I want to still stay on the Aero theme, and just turn the SuperBar completely off, Can I do a sort of, Reverse BlueBadge process? or is it a service? or something?

Set icons to small then set it to never combine (via the taskbar properties), then the taskbar will be like it was in Vista.

It still isn't 100% the same. That damn superbar is why I switched from 7100 to Vista

AFAIK there's no way to completely turn off Superbar as it's integrated into Windows Explorer, why don't you just use Windows Vista for the sake of hated Superbar?

Try using the vista (or XP) explorer on Windows 7.
I got the XP explorer (just the taskbar, folders open in the windows vista explorer) to work in Vista, with only the start menu and start button looking strange.

I guess 7's visual styles aren't that different from Vista's styles, so you should be able to use the vista explorer without problems.

The Visual style in 7 has a few key differences to the Vista one, In 7 some images required for the orb and menu are stored in imageres.dll, in Vista they are not.

(Don't quote me on the details btw, been a while since I used a build of 7, but you get the drift, different files stored in different places.)

The superbar is also a reason I went back to Vista (apart from the bugs it had with my netbook).

It's a shame about the superbar, 7100 was far less of a memory hog than 6002. Prehaps I might switch to 7 when it RTM's and use something like a pirated version of WindowBlinds

I don't really understand the problem.
You can unpin the super bar links, create a quick launch area and the super bar behaves exactly in the same way as it did in Vista...

Despistado, set it to small icons and yeah, your right, it functions exactly like the taskbbar in Vista, with the added eye candy of Windows 7.

You can do what others said and enable titles and disable grouping. If you really want to get it back to Vista though, you should be able to do this:

Why not just use it how it is. I mean you hate it now...but in the beginning so did i. A few weeks and you won't be able to go back. Really...

The Super bar is sometimes annoying but you can get used to it.

As being said, if do not like the superbar, move back to Vista and if do not like the aero interface go back to XP.

simple, no hasle, but if you run windows 7 for a period of time you will get used to it and when you go back to Vista and eralier you will miss it.

True. After using Windows 7 and Superbar for some times, I feel weird and a little uncomfortable when using Windows Vista, and much much more uncomfortable using Windows XP.
